PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Laura's Thoughts

Picture
Tis the season to be jolly! We all could use a little jolly these days. Time to decorate the tree, adorn the house with lights, wrap the presents, and do some holiday baking, but more importantly, to spend time with family and friends, at a distance of course. I was thinking the other day about my most favorite thing to do during the holidays. I decided it is getting in the kitchen and baking all sorts of delectable cookies and cakes. This is something I enjoy doing with my girls. We have a lot of fun, and sometimes we discover new recipes. This year I will attempt to make one of my Grandmother's specialties, Pan de Polvo. These are a traditional Mexican cinnamon sugar cookie, and so good that you cannot eat just one. I will let you know how it goes! Speaking of cookies, at our next meeting on Tuesday, December 1st, we will be baking cookies together via Zoom. It should be interesting! You will be receiving Cookie Mix in a Jar from member Mary Jaime, who will lead us in this new baking adventure. It will be quite different from our normal holiday celebration, but it should be fun and we will make the best of it. I hope you will be available to join us to not only bake cookies, but also to learn how you can make Cookie Mi in a Jar to give away as gifts to your family and friends. Oh, and do not forget to dress festive and wear your best Christmas shirt!
